A compact SUV is a versatile vehicle that provides efficient performance and a comfortable ride. Two models that you can choose from in this category include the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and the 2024 Honda CR-V. You can visit Premier Mitsubishi to see the Outlander Sport in person, but here's a comparison between the two models.
One of the benefits of buying the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is that it comes with an outstanding warranty. Honda offers a warranty for the CR-V, but it's only good for three years or 36,000 miles bumper-to-bumper. Mitsubishi warranties the Outlander Sport for five years or 60,000 miles with a powertrain warranty for 10 years or 100,000 miles. You can feel safer in the Mitsubishi SUV with roadside assistance for five years with unlimited mileage compared to three years and only 36,000 miles for the CR-V.
The dimensions of the two models are comparable, but the Outlander Sport is slightly more compact, which makes for easier turning and getting around heavy traffic. You also get a slightly higher ground clearance for the Mitsubishi model, allowing you to travel over rocky terrain without damaging the underbody. Inside the models, you have ample space for everyone and their belongings. The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport offers slightly more legroom for front-seat passengers.
When it comes to function, both Honda and Mitsubishi knew how to design their compact SUVs to appeal to buyers. With features like intermittent windshield wipers, daytime running lamps, and power mirrors, the models enhance the driving experience. Mitsubishi adds a few extra touches to the base trim, such as fog lamps, LED taillamps, and heated mirrors. Roof rails are optional on the base trim of the Mitsubishi but not available until the higher trim levels on the Honda.
The base models for the 2024 Outlander Sport and 2024 CR-V leave out some of the nicer amenities, but you still get a stereo system with both vehicles. Mitsubishi adds HD Radio as standard while both models allow satellite radio as an option. For more entertainment choices, the Outlander Sport also has Bluetooth streaming audio as standard with a seven-inch touchscreen and infotainment system, which isn't available on the base CR-V. Forward Collision Warning is also standard across all trims for the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, which provides alerts if you get near a crash situation. Pedestrian detection is also standard, which means the system can detect if a person walks into your path.
