When you buy a vehicle, it's a major investment. You want to know you're getting a good deal for your money. One area where the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport stands out is in resale value where it beats out the Trax by over $2000. It has a higher residual value and lower depreciation percentage, which means your vehicle has more value when it's time to sell for a newer model. The Outlander Sport also have a higher reliability rating and retained value rating.
When you drive a vehicle, you want the peace of mind that comes with a warranty. Both models offer a solid warranty package, but Mitsubishi has one of the best in the industry. You get a bumper-to-bumper warranty of five years or 60,000 miles with a powertrain warranty of ten years or 100,000 miles. Both Chevy and Mitsubishi offer a five-year Roadside Assistance plan, but Mitsubishi doesn't cap the mileage.
While the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and Chevy Trax are competitive when it comes to power, the Outlander Sport edges out its competition with a 2L four-cylinder engine over the Trax's 1.2L three-cylinder engine. The Trax offers FWD as standard while the Outlander Sport takes charge of the situation with AWD. You also get 148 horsepower for the Mitsubishi, which outpowers the Trax. You can clear more obstacles in the Outlander Sport, which features a ground clearance of 8.5 inches over the 7.3 inches of the Trax.
Both models offer multiple safety features as standard, such as a backup camera, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning. Only Mitsubishi includes the option for Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert on the base trim. You'll find that both of these SUVs provide some impressive comfort features, such as power steering and cruise control. The Outlander Sport makes more amenities standard, such as power locks and heated mirrors. Rain-sensing wipers and keyless entry are also standard for Mitsubishi. You can add a luggage rack, which isn't an option for the base Trax. Power folding mirrors are standard for the higher trims of the Outlander Sport. This model also includes HD Radio and Smart Device Integration while both SUVs include satellite radio as standard on the higher trims. Climate control is standard across the line for Mitsubishi but becomes standard on higher trim levels for the Chevy Trax.
